In October 2019 the Government announced that it will no longer use Private Finance 2 (PF2), the current model of Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and the PFI model was formally abandoned in 2018.

 

in the UK a large number of contracts are due to expire between now and  2028 with a sharp rise in contracts expiring in 2025.
